Lesson Description

This lesson explores the idea of building biblical community by intentionally connecting with others who can encourage your faith journey and vice versa. It emphasizes the significance of relationships in your spiritual growth.

What Is A Community Group at CC?

Groups are made up of people who meet together to learn, explore their faith, encourage one another, and help people find their way back to God. Groups usually meet in homes weekly for about 1-2 hours. We also have ministry specific groups where others grow by serving and connecting. We believe that God has designed us to live in a life-giving community. We need each other, and connecting in groups makes us stronger and helps us to grow in Christ.

Building Biblical Community

  • Connecting with others is essential in your faith journey
  • Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 - Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.

Intentional Relationship Building

  • Intentionally build relationships that encourage your faith and journey towards Jesus
  • Proverbs 27:17 - As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

Community Groups: Our Intentional Gatherings at Community Christian

  • Meaningful relationships for spiritual growth and encouragement. Our groups serve and mature together. Group multiplication is the goal.
  • Acts 2:42 - They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

Reflection Questions

  2. How have intentional relationships with others encouraged your faith journey and personal growth?
  3. Can you recall a time when you were a source of encouragement and support for someone else on their faith journey?
  4. What steps can you take to build stronger connections within your faith community, especially with those who may need encouragement?
