Community 2.0

A NOTE FROM KYLE WINDSOR, SENIOR PASTOR

piechartkyleWhat is next for COMMUNITY CHRISTIAN? Where is COMMUNITY going in the next three years and why? After much prayer and planning, I would like to introduce you to Community 2.0. I jokingly wanted to update our mission statement from helping people find their way back to God to helping more people find their way back to God. In essence, that is exactly right! The reason is simple: We are asking God for 5% of the Valley and Community 2.0 is a measurable step in helping more people find their way back to God! The key tool to accomplish this is for every campus to reproduce itself about every two years. This is exactly what we have done since September 2010. Community 2.0 will resource our next two campuses, as well as raise our current three campuses to a new level of health. It will also enable us to launch our Leadership Residency, a key component to rapidly reproducing campuses. Finally, Community 2.0 will financially resource our brand new international focus in the Central American country of Nicaragua! There are more details on all of these parts of Community 2.0 in the rest of this newsletter! Building on the solid foundation of the last 6 years and the incredible growth God has given us, with God’s power, our next three years look spectacular! Please join me in impacting the future through Community 2.0!

Q&A

Q// Why are we doing the Community 2.0 Initiative?
A// God has given Community Christian a Grander Vision—a vision to help see 5% of our Valley find their way back to God. This initiative will provide the resources to help us work towards this goal.

Q// Why now?
A// Community Christian was launched on day one to reproduce itself every two years. Our campuses are healthy enough to begin the planning process of adding two more campuses soon! We will use the funds from Community 2.0 to move us forward to expand the reach of Community both here and internationally.

Q// What do we hope to accomplish?
A// 1. Fund TWO new campuses – one in early 2017 and the next in 2018, or sooner. 2. Improve our current campuses and add Leadership Residency. 3. Plant a new church in Nicaragua, partnering with Compassion International.

Q// What do I need to do?
A// Begin praying now about how the Lord will lead you to use your resources to help MORE people find their way back to God through Community 2.0. Our hope is that every person will join us as we launch into the next phase of Community Christian. Commitment Day will be November 13th, a day when we will bring our initial gifts and our pledges for the next three years. Q & A IMPACTING THE FUTURE THROUGH COMMUNITY 2.0 At the close of service November 13th, the people of Community Christian will have an opportunity to make a one-time gift and turn in a three-year pledge reflecting their commitment to the Community 2.0 initiative. The Nicholson family is excited for this upcoming season in the life of Community Christian. Our time at the Morgan Hill campus has been incredible for the growing of our faith and commitment to God’s plan for us. A few years ago, we were attending a “big” church and were lacking a true connection to our brothers and sisters in Christ. The move to Community was exactly what we needed to connect and get involved.

Something amazing happens when you are serving the Lord and committed to his mission. It took us a while to fully understand what it means to be “Helping People Find Their Way Back to God,” but as we have faithfully attended and served, it has become so clear that this is the message of the Bible!

Community 2.0 will allow for countless other families to find their way back to God, as well as find the connection with others for which we were all created. I hope you will join us as we commit to the Lord’s plan for our church. We can never know the full extent of God’s desire for us until we take the first steps and trust in his plan!
